"Hip-Hop 9.1.1."

From Queen Vivian (of the Boston Chapter of the Universal Zulu Nation), the 1998 play Hip-Hop 2010 was a groundbreaking piece of art for both the theater and the hip-hop community. Tonight, Queen Vivian revisits — and revamps — the idea with Hip-Hop 9.1.1. This interactive show riffs on Dickens’s classic holiday tale of retribution and redemption, exploring the culture of hip-hop through the past and into the new millennium. Expect to get schooled by the Ghosts of Hip-Hop Past, Present, and Future (played, among other parts, by members of the Boston hip-hop community) in a play that’s meant to be as educational as it is fun.
