2011 National Poetry Slam
This event occurs in the past,

(view map)
Some serious words are about to get laid down on this city this week. The 2011 National Poetry Slam kicks off in Central Square today, with 76 teams from around the country competing to see who doth slam the illest. Along with the official slam competition, the four days of events include “Head to Head Haiku,” “Roots Reading,” “Write Bloody Showcase,” and more. When Edward Bulwer-Lytton said that the pen was mightier than the sword, he wasn’t talking poetry slams, but it definitely applies to this lingual throwdown at various locations around Central Square, Cambridge, including the Cantab.
