Teatro Lirico d'Europa
This event occurs in the past,
Feb 4 Through 6 2011
219 Tremont St, Boston, MA
(view map)
Teatro Lirico d'Europa, the Bulgarian touring opera company that for a dozen years has provided us with good old-fashioned opera at low prices, seems to have been kicked out of the Cutler Majestic and is taking its Boston curtain calls with two of its best productions: Donizetti's coloratura melodrama based on an historical novel by Sir Walter Scott, with the famous sextet and Mad Scene, Lucia di Lammermoor (February 4-6) and Verdi's heartbreaking and heartbreakingly tuneful La traviata (March 4-6).
