Quote of the day: Glenn Beck, self-perception and reality

From the Seattle Times' write-up of Beck's recent visit to his home state of Washington:

Beck said he didn't remember politics being divisive growing up, and that if people now could just stop "tearing each other apart" there was a bright future for the country....

Beck came to Seattle amid a torrent of anger over his proclamation on July 28 that President Obama was a racist and that he believed the president has a "deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture."

I would rather have Glenn Beck as a neighbor than any liberal.  We have some liberals in my neighborhood and THEY are the scary ones.

wonder why he hasent sent his chicago thugs over to becks house to break a couple legs, maybe because he knows beck might be right. or maybe its not obama, it very well could be his radical wife. Yeah the one who started the pacient dumping in chicago. I dont know if Barack is racict or not but he and all around him are definatly Elitest and that is a huge problem because they have no clue how to leave us alone and let our failing companies fail and stop holding us down. His wife, is the one who hasent ever been proud of her country till Barack got elected.

Not a big Beck fan, he can be over the top even for me and i think of myself as neutral or an American i dont think hes a racist but an elitest who can speak but is out of touch, being run by his party and for some reason is trying to make every change in the world happen now, good or bad they cant all start now.. but i have definitely been leaning more republican on some issues and dem on others except dems seem to have zero business skills, are wasteful spenders who do not practice what they preach and cry- lie then cry more...

Worrying about Obama being a racist is like worrying about bruising while going over Niagara Falls in a barrel, the least of the issues. I don't think Obama knows enough about middle America to dislike white people. His lack of empathy with people who aren't lab rats in a sociological study; that's another story. I think any fair-minded person would admit that while we all want him to succeed, most of us are dubious that he can pull it off.
