Always a must-see cinema event, The
Boston French Film Festival at the MFA opens with laughs this year as it
screens Philippe Le Guay's The Women on the Sixth Floor
(2010; July 7 @ 7:30 pm; July 9 @ 5:40 pm), a comedy about a bevy of Spanish
housekeepers who turn a staid bourgeois family upside down. Le Guay will be
attending tonight's screening. Other highpoints include Bertrand Blier's The
Clink of Ice (2010; July 17 @ 5:10 pm), Catherine Breillat's The Sleeping
Beauty (2010; July 22 @ 6 pm; July 23 @ 3 pm) and the
irrepressible Jean-Luc Godard's Film Socialisme (2010;
July 16 @ 1 pm; July 17 @ 3 pm). The Festival runs through July 24 at 465
