I find it hard to talk about Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit without sounding like one of those quote whores whose names you see in the commercials for crappy movies. But here's the thing: Hot Pursuit really is a pulse-pounding, white-knuckle thrill ride that will leave you breathless. I can't even load up the title screen without hyperventilating. Although it offers several racing modes, the heart of this one is a cops-versus-criminals demolition derby offering a dizzying sense of speed, tight arcade-style controls, and weaponry that demands both skill and tactics. What a rush.
