Boston doesn’t mark the xx’s spot
UK hush-rock kids the xx have announced a fall stateside tour, one that’s being billed by their label as “the last chance to see the band play for quite a while.” The only problem is they forgot us here in Boston. Super thanks we get for selling out two -- yes two! -- xx gigs in one night at the Paradise back on April 2.
The black-and-white cookie of the more brooding side of the indie landscape will cross the country with Los Angeles-based experimental art-rock ladies Warpaint, as well as hit Austin City Limits on Oct. 8.
We were hoping Boston would squeeze into that open Oct. 3 slot between New York and Philly gigs, but the likeliest landing spot — once again, the Paradise — already has a show booked. Let’s all sigh gently as we read the confirmed date so far, hoping this tour isn’t yet “Crystallized” (sorry).
