Wilco unveils Solid Sound photo contest
There are few things as photogenic as Wilco and the summertime. And whoever combines the two successfully will score passes and hotel accomodations to August’s
Wilco-curated Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA.
The three-day North Adams-based festival features a headlining performance by Wilco -- in the
Chicago alt-rock band’s only East Coast performance of the year -- as well as Avi Buffalo,
the Books, Sir Richard Bishop and others. The extended weekend in Western Mass. will also provide workshops, a farmers market, local food vendors and artisans, installations and other fun artsy stuff, as well as a performance by the Bread & Puppet Theatre.
Solid Sound runs Aug. 13 to 15, but the photo contest ends in mid-July, so get on it.
Here are the official details from John Weis of Higher Ground Presents:
"Wilco has announced the return of their semi-regular photo contest. First round begins now through July 7 and is open to any quality photographs with the theme 'Summer + throwing in a
little Wilco can't hurt.'
A group of 15 finalists will be selected and posted on the Solid Sound website on July
11 for final round democratic voting, July 13 to 19. Winners will be announced shortly after voting closes.
Prizes range from shirts and mugs to weekend Solid Sound Festival passes and hotel. Entry, terms, and other points at http://www.solidsoundfestival.com. Good luck!"
