Today: Go download the Dirty Projectors/Bjork collaboration

Last year, the Dirty Projectors and Bjork played a special show at the Housing Works bookstore, performing Mount Wittenberg Orca, a song cycle Dave Longstreth composed just for the occasion. Recently, they got back together to record those seven songs, and, unsurprisingly, it's really good - Bjork fits in perfectly here. Also of note: this collection includes "When the World Comes to an End," the song that won over ?uestlove on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (which eventually landed the band's three female vocalists a guest spot on the Roots' latest, How I Got Over). Mount Wittenberg Orca is available for download now here. These songs were inspired in part by vocalist-guitarist Amber Coffman seeing a family of whales in northern California, and they were originally performed at a benefit show, so all proceeds from this release are going to the National Geographic Society's Ocean Initiative.
