Trippy art fest FIGMENT comes to Boston on June 5
FIGMENT -- a giddy art scrum with roots in NYC -- is set to invade Boston in two weeks. On May 15, participating artists gathered at Fourth Wall Gallery to raise money for FIGMENT's
fast-approaching Bay State debut. The fundraiser alone attracted 200
supporters, who were treated to a night of live music, dance, and all
manner of weirdness, evidence of which you can see above in our
slideshow of K Bonami and Karl Stevens's snapshots from the evening.
As
for the upcoming FIGMENT event: Part of Memorial Drive will shut down
on Saturday, June 5, from noon to 6pm to make way for FIGMENT (which is
allied with the Black Rock Arts Foundation and produced alongside the
Cambridge Arts Council's River Festival)
and its 100+ art pieces, performances, and art-related activities. Even
if your left brain forgets to mark this one down on the calendar, when
your right brain inexplicably draws you to the river -- spooky-mind-tractor-beams-from-Close Encounters-style -- two Saturdays from now, you'll know why.
