Huckabee is looking more and more like a presidential candidate who would gladly accept the vice-presidential nomination. He's trying to become the candidate of evangelical Christians - approx. 40% of Iowa's GOP caucus goers and about 20-25% of all general election voters. Huckabee can bring those hefty numbers to the bargaining table if he can corral the evangelical Christian voters. Chances are, if nominated as VP, Huckabee would likely move toward the center in proclaiming his true love for the entire "Judeo Christian" tradition with a nod of respect for other faiths. With all the crap going on in the world, an appeal to a higher power to guide our better natures may have a resounding effect. If all he can get is the evangelical Christian general election votes then - while he's getting 25% of all voters - he's lost 75% of all other voters. May be time's a-comin' for the Republicans to put up their fabled "big tent" where everyone is welcome but, of course, where you are seated is still up to the party elders.
